Medical Care

DT has been providing basic medical care for children in  community since 1997. The Medical Clinics in Poipet and Neak Leung provide care to children in DT’s projects; added to this, they provide members of the community access to consultation and treatment for a very low cost

For serious cases consultation and treatment are free of charge, and if necessary children are referred to a hospital (mainly in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap). DT’s medical care focuses on the reduction of child malnutrition. Due to their poor socio economic circumstances, some mothers are not able to breastfeed their babies. DT supports several families with powdered milk to prevent malnutrition and child mortality. Every month DT’s Poipet clinic received patient around 300 and almost of them are babe and children.
